A large newly built Neoclassical mansion outside Madrid, which the client wanted to decorate in the Empire style.

Caroline collaborated with a Spanish interior designer, bringing from England a large collection of antique furniture, paintings, objets d'art, prints, silver and rare Aubusson carpets. The curtains in the drawing room are hand painted to match the pattern in the French Empire carpet.

The walls in the dining room are muralled with a Pompeian theme and the hall painted with trompe l'oeil porphyry statues.
